In the book Frances graphically demonstrates the power of hope and work. Although she had cancer for thirty years, Frances established and ran four businesses in that period. Since her recovery she has assisted close to 6000 individuals, many with disabilities, to establish a new life in business.

Today, Frances is a professional director and also is executive director of the Stellaris Group of companies which has the mission to give people the skills to take control of their own lives. This book, designed for case managers, encapsulates what she has learnt over her life.

Women at the Top - A "How - to Book for Aspiring Women Directors"

This is a handbook for women who aspire to be a director of a board.
It contains the experiences of author Frances Denz as she moved up the governance ladder from being on the committee of her local dog club, to being a director of two very significant boards. It is about what works and what doesn’t work in getting elected or selected.

Dame Jenny Shipley reviews the book, saying
“This is a gutsy pertinent and timely book. Frances has taken the lead in putting the issues on the table, and while many will debate the relative merits, no-one can dispute the challenge she lays down, or the evidence she provides that where women and men directors who are qualified are around the table, then the quality and performance or the company improves. While New Zealand has a brilliant record of women’s achievement, there is still much to be done in the corporate world and Frances lays down the challenge for those who appoint directors and those who wish to be directors. A good and timely read demanding an urgent and positive response.”
