1. Credits for Competence and Confidence (Three Cs)
This course is designed to assist participants back into employment. Credits gained through this course are NZQA unit standards that can lead to the National Certificate in Employment Skills.

2. Small Business Training
This course is designed specifically to assist people into self-employment, and is based on the groundbreaking research of Stellaris Executive Director Frances Denz. The programme covers basic business skills and knowledge and runs for six weeks. Three weeks are in the classroom and three weeks in practical experience.

3. SHAPE
This programme is designed for those who need to control their weight in order to be eligible for required surgery or other ACC services. The course covers diet, exercise and motivation while adding a practical component to each piece of theory. The group aspect of the programme encourages mutual support that has lasting benefits, while the course itself extends for 18 weeks to ensure behavioural change.

Individual Programmes

Individual Programmes are also ‘individualised’, meaning that each claimant is given a plan that addresses their individual needs. Plans can broadly follow the content of our Group Programmes but are tailored to the needs of the individual.

One to one contact may be face to face, on line or via telephone, depending on the needs of the claimant.

1. Micro-enterprises for Head Injury claimants
The objective is to achieve a positive, meaningful return to society for claimants who have suffered a head injury. Claimants are permitted to earn up to 20% of the income upon which their weekly compensation is based without abatement of their compensation. They may earn this income through a partial return to their formal occupation or by undertaking work.

2. Positive About Profit
This programme is designed:
  • For business people who need to readjust the input they have into their business (e.g. to move from a technical role to a managerial role). Claimants receive a visit in the workplace from the business coach who analyses the needs of the claimant in view of their altered role in the business. A plan is developed to facilitate the transition.
  • To identify claimants who have chosen to run their business at a loss in order to maximise ACC claims, while providing them with valuable business coaching that will inspire them to free themselves of ACC.
3. Stop Smoking
This programme is designed for claimants who must stop smoking in order to access surgery and other ACC services. The programme uses accelerated learning techniques and visualisation to maximise the claimant’s ability to set and achieve their goal.
