Frances Denz talks to a million people on radio show

The ANZ Flying Start Business Plan Competition is back for 2013. If you’re in the start-up phase or running a business with a turnover of less than $1 million, enter for a chance to win a share of over $80,000 in prizes including $5000 worth of training from Stellaris.
It’s all about stimulating business growth around New Zealand and promoting the practice of robust business planning. All you need to do is submit a business plan showcasing a fresh and viable business that is set for growth and sustainable revenue.
There’s a prize package of $58,800 to be won for the supreme winner, consisting of $30,000 cash provided by ANZ for approved growth opportunities (subject to conditions), $10,000 worth of consulting and development services, provided by The Marketing Bureau, $5,000 worth of business education or management training, provided by Stellaris, $5,000 worth of advertising/editorial in NZBusiness Magazine, $5,000 worth of legal advice, provided by Lane Neave Lawyers, and a $3,800 virtual office package, provided by Servcorp.
The second and third prize winners will each receive a $5,000 cash prize provided by ANZ, whilst the fourteen regional winners will each receive a $1000 cash prize, provided by Ernst & Young, MYOB, OpenHost and Servcorp.

Frances Denz: Guest presenter at Higher Education Curriculum Design Colloquium
Stellaris Director Frances Denz presented her paper: Where you start makes all the difference to an international audience of leading curriculum designers recently. Using the Stellaris Certificate In Governance (Level 7) as her case study, Frances explains how it makes a difference to the learner if a course is designed to be academic or applied in nature. The Stellaris Certificate in Governance is an applied course designed to educate new and experienced directors and trustees in the skills and competencies of being on a board in the real world.

Stellaris presenter wins Exceptional Adult Educator Award
Frances Denz was awarded the Exceptional Adult Educator Award at a Mayoral reception in Tauranga. The award recognises more than three decades as a trainer, speaker, facilitator and educator predominantly in business education. Frances works with business leaders to “get them going” (both the business and the leader!).
Also a winner on the night was Stellaris client Kessie Kohu who is Manager of Operations at Rau o Te Huia Community Trust. Kessie has been completing elements from the Stellaris Governance Education suite particularly around working effectively with the Board of trustees. She is also working through management courses including leadership and team development topics.
The awards are a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) initiative supported by the Tertiary Education Commission, adult and community education providers at a local level and the New Zealand National Commission for UNESCO. They are presented as part of Adult Learners' Week/He Tangata MÄtauranga.
