Craig makes a good point. Passion can sometimes make the impossible happen but it can also blind the people involved to changes in the environment. One of the most important parts of a strategy session is the Environmental scan (there are a number of tools for this). Sometimes clients want to skip lightly over this to get to the exciting stuff but I insist on being rigorous in this respect. And this is true not only in the NFP sector but also in business.
Craig Fisher a Consultant at RSM NZ explains how passion is an essential requirement for success.
